Commercial/Office Case Studies Tyco Union City, CA Education Commercial/Office Residential Recreation Site Development The challenge: The mezzanine portion of Tyco's 50,000-square foot Union City location had not been built to current codes and required a complete retrofit. In an added challenge, any work on the project needed to be completed within the confines of a tight timeframe. Our solution: Landtech teamed with Branagh Inc. and Design Arc Architects, Inc. to remodel the entire building and retrofit the facility's mezzanine. We collaborated with the contractor to figure out the best approach to the project, and together we determined what types of materials would work best and how to combine value engineering and design-build on a fast-track schedule. The result: Continuous permitting through different stages of the project proved invaluable- we were able to get approval for the overall remodeling first and deal with the rest of the components as they were being built. And we came in under the strict timetable- from start to finish, we worked within a span of four months.
