Washington High School

Overview:

Serving as the largest and oldest high school campus in Fremont, Washington High School sought Landtech’s structural engineering services for upgrades along with construction administration for new campus buildings.

Project Details:

Location: Fremont, CA

Timeline: Originally established in 1829, old classrooms and the administrative building were forced to shut down as the old concrete and masonry large building was deemed not safe for earthquakes.

Project Needs: A major campus renovation project was needed in order to reconstruct and upgrade the old land-mark building as well as six other class room, laboratory and multipurpose buildings.

Landtech’s Solution: We teamed up with the project architect to make this renovation possible, as well as developing testing criteria, overseeing the testing of prototypes of the seismic moment frames and modifying the connection design to meet the required ductility requirements. Landtech also worked with the project contractor and oversaw the construction of the project.
